I currently play Schecter CV-4 diamond series equipped with standard duncan designed pickups. I can get a variety of tones but i struggle to get the jazz bass/stingray sound and i am interested in finding out whether or not i should invest in some SD hardware?

Been playing bass around 14 months and still can't learn songs by ear, i can tune to a note without a problem but i can't learn songs at all, anyone with any tips?

I've been thinking of buying a new Hofner ignition bass off thomann for around £210 and i want some expert advice on whether or not it would be worth my time to buy this, holler back as soon as possible, thanks ;)
