Are Seymour Duncan's the way to go?

I currently play Schecter CV-4 diamond series equipped with standard duncan designed pickups. I can get a variety of tones but i struggle to get the jazz bass/stingray sound and i am interested in finding out whether or not i should invest in some SD hardware?

Seymour Duncan makes several pickups, you need to be specific about which ones you were interested in.

Also, you didn't explain what exactly you don't like about the stock pickups.

Jazz bass/Stingray are nothing alike. A HS Ernie Ball is the closest thing I can think of.

If you're looking to mod, I get the feeling Delanos or EMGs are right for you. You could put a 35J in the neck and a 35TW (single & dual coil switching) in the bridge, giving you the ability to choose two "single coils" or one humbucker.

Did you look at this bass? It has an MM and single.

Which has kept me from trying one as a budget SR
SX did the same thing; wonder why nobody builds an econo bass with the MM pup in the correct location? (other than Rogue)
