They had them on sale at guitar center for $750 when I was there last. I almost picked it up. But I found a 1985 aged white(yellow tint) p bass that was beaten to hell and played like a dream for the same price, couldn't pass it up.
I'd save a little bit more and get the USA nitro satin p bass. Its the best p bass for the money IMHO. But those classic series 50s basses, are some of the hottest looking p basses outside of the custom shop.
I play a carvin, says made in the USA on the head, cab, and my bass. Made in USA doesn't mean a lot anymore, but it is more comforting than a "made in Indonesia" stamp on an amp.
So far it's at a ridiculously low bid. $800 for that bass. I can't imagine that bass getting too many bids. NFL auctions don't always bring in many bidders. I'm throwing a bid in.
I'm looking into getting a p-bass for gigging, will have gold anodized aluminum pickguard and fiesta red body or see thru blonde, and maple neck. That to me is what a p bass looks like. Sunburst, tort, and rosewood is boring and isnt worth my money.
Just go with carvin. My bx500 is louder than I should need for the foreseeable future. It sounds great, and its priced like an Indonesian made amp but it's made in the USA.
