It this legit? Fender P bass content

Hello brethren!
I'm right outside the shop trying to decide, and need help asap.
I don't know a lot about fender basses but something is odd.
The back plate and tuners don't have the fender logo anywhere. The tuning machines go opposite to all my other basses.

Should I pull the trigger?

Yea those won't have the logo. Mexican 50s model I believe? It'll say Fender on the headstock but that's all. Everything else looks right. 2005 model I think. And it looks like the previous owner added the pickup covers and thumb rest. The tuners are opposite cause the vintage tuners were reverse style.

What's the price on that?

Great playing P bass for sure. They run $899.99 USD so if it's in good shape and has a case I'd get it for $665.

Comes with Tweed hard case, all electronics have been upgraded, as well as the pick up (to a 60s style fender I think?) all original electronics come with it, but original pick guard is gone

so you're getting a tweed case, the original electronics, new electronics, added pickup covers and thumb rest? Id get it.

PS - that gold pick guard I think, is standard. So even if it's not the original one it's probably the one you'd get anyway.

Also, the original pickup is great. Nice and loud and punchy. But if they upgraded to either of the available 60's style fender P pickups, that could be an $80-$120 upgrade right there.

From what I've heard about down under prices, that seems reasonable. That series came with the gold aluminum pickguard. Very similar to the Road Worns, but not, you know, Road Worn.

I personally love flats on Ps but you gotta try them out. They aren't for everyone.

Ps work with both, depending on thre sound you are after. I even have used Rotosound swings.

Cool looikin' bass. Try DR Low Rider Nickels. Easy on your fingers, easier on the frets, good durability and nice tone...not too zingy.

I'd save a little bit more and get the USA nitro satin p bass. Its the best p bass for the money IMHO. But those classic series 50s basses, are some of the hottest looking p basses outside of the custom shop.
