Help trying to copy this bass tone

Hello, to get things short ive been dying trying to copy this bass tone as best as i can for a while now. The examples all sound just about the same so im thinking theyre all using the same distortion/overdrive (from testing im thinking maybe he's using both DIST and OD together??) but i have no clue how to EQ things well enough and what effects i could use, especially with multifx pedals.

I tried to get some of the most isolated parts with this tone i could find so some of the audio isnt the best but it still captures the over tone im wanting to achieve

my chain is a Fender P bass into an EBS multicomp -> B7Kv2 -> HX stomp -> scarlett solo
and whats known about the bassist's gear, is a 50s series P bass + EBS multicomp -> sansamp -> b7k v1 headrush multifx -> Super bassman 300

i hear almost little to none finger and string noise but it's still cutting through so im completely lost in that regard but,
ill get an example of the closest ive gotten later.. everything i try sounds either too clean and or boomy, or too top heavy and more thrashy

The first sample sounds to me as paralel processing: compressed lows and high-passed dirt on mids (Sansamp or the like). Note that it could have been done in the studio while mixing...

Try either rolling back tone control on your precission bass...or using low pass filter...or cab simulation...

Looks like you have all the ingredients, and to me his tone does sound like the gear you listed, I would put your b7k in the loop of your HX stomp so you can emulate his signal chain exactly, I can’t remember if the hx stomp has a bassman but I’m sure you can do something similar


Edit: honestly, I reckon you could get most of the way there with the new earthquaker scrolls pedal, have you watched any vids on it?

Normally, people ask something impossibly vague like "How do a I get a growly, buttery tone?", and don't give any example of what they mean by that, or any clue as to what gear they're working with. You, in contrast, have given us many videos to click on.

I hear a lot of the saturation that my Kasleder Albatross achieves(fuzz and overdriven"clean" blend). I don't hear a ton of fretbuzz. Maybe I'm listening to the wrong clip or part of it.
I hear a saturated, fuzzy overdriven sound that is rich instead of one thing sounding like its' sitting on top of the other. I hear more of the Vintage than the B7K character when it comes to Darkglass. There's a "grunt" to the mids.

I wasn't going for a specific tone like that but this was when I first got it, all by itself with my P bass. Actually it reminded me of Mew's bass:

Good job OP for providing heaps of details and examples.
Ignore the tone in the arena live clips, there's so much arena reverb to clearly hear him.
The best example was the first one you provided, which sounds to me just like the rig of his that you listed. So you're really close.
Just try setting up an amp sim at the end of the chain. Adjust the gain on the amp sim to get close. Too much amp sim gain wont sound like the dark glass tone anymore, too little will be 100% dark glass.
