The Musicmaster pickup was just a stratocaster pickup with a solid cover. - the Mustang pickup is a split coil humbucker like a P-bass - probably a bit lower output - but I believe it was purpose built for bass. Not sure how big an impact the scale length has given the other differences though...

I agree with whoever suggested the Mustang bass... perfect size for a small person, short scale - so reach is not an issue - and they do a very good P-Bass approximation sound wise.

I'd like to see the return of Dakota Red, Shoreline Gold, Sherwood Green, Daphne Blue, Sonic Blue etc... Fender did switch finish suppliers a couple of years ago and I'm sure that was a contributing factor in the narrowing of the choices... but I also think it's just cheaper for them to stick...

I have a 4 ohm Epifani Performance 2x10 that I use with a Genz Neo-Pak head... Great cab although it's one of the larger 2x10's I've come across. Nice old school sound with ceramic drivers.
