Weird wiring question, for me at least. I'm trying to rewire my 81 Blazer bass with the original split-P pickup and want to make sure I'm doing it correctly as I don't have a lot of experience. I took some photos but I'm honestly not sure it was wired correctly by the previous owner. The...

Tru-oil advice - make it look like a Peavey T-40 natural finish?

I'm sure you guys are familiar with that thin natural satin finish Peavey used on the early T series guitars (shown, not mine.) I have an old Ibanez Blazer bass that was stripped down to the bare ash and I'm about 5 coats into applying Tru-Oil to the body. I first sanded it down to 400 grit...

I wasn’t aware of that, I might just have to do that. Thanks!

Holy moly, I stopped down there today (without the bass) and Elderly gave me an estimate of over $750 to do a neck reset. Is that typical?

Never mind, I'm pretty sure I need metric. Does anyone have a source?

New Billy Joel single - Does Not Suck!

People keep talking about "AI" but I'm going to guess this is more about a fairly common "de-aging" process that has been used in movies for years. Yeah, the programs used might have some sort of AI functionality but this is just a visual effect and used to very good results in my opinion. I...

Sorry to hijack this thread again, but would these be suitable replacements for the tuning peg machine screws? It has the classic "heart" shaped (Gotoh?) tuners. I have one that is stripped pretty bad and would like to replace it. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

To be fair, they probably thought I was some rube kid with no money and didn’t want to waste a lot of time on me. They weren’t entirely wrong.

To be honest, the only reason I suspected it was a copy was because about 25-30 years ago I brought it into Elderly Instruments (yes, THE Elderly) in Lansing and they told me it probably was. That was just a guy at the counter but most of them are usually pretty informed.

Thanks for the information folks, please keep it coming if you have anything to add! Looking at what you see, would it be in my interest to look in to having it restored or just leave it as is? I'm not looking to sell it at this stage but I'm not going to live forever either so I would like it...

Thanks, any thoughts about the control panel "bezel"? The black plastic looks way bigger than I've seen.

I haven't actually tried to move them yet, the hex heads are corroded pretty bad. I'm sure I can get them out but I want them to be usable with a wrench.
