Holy moly, I stopped down there today (without the bass) and Elderly gave me an estimate of over $750 to do a neck reset. Is that typical?

I’d bring the bass in and have them give you an estimate. That number seems a little high. Quoted numbers for work if it’s sight unseen are always going to be high because the service wants to cover its butt - or sometimes just politely suggest they don’t want the job.

From my experience, Elderly, whike a great company, has always trended more on the high side pricewise. They’re geared more towards the professional musician and collector’s market. In their defense however, whatever work you have them do for you will be absolutely first class and done right. That level of service always comes at a price. Still, if it were me I’d solicit opinions from actual customers and shop around for a lower price. Elderly isn’t the only qualified guitar repair service out there.
