If you mean thick as in wide string spacing then yes 19mm is a bit wide for some. But the neck profile (front to back) is not thick to me by any means. I find it pretty thin, smooth and very playable, unlike some USA fender 5s which do feel thick to me. Squier deluxe active V is a good bass...

Almost certain that it is a squier vintage modified fretless with fender decal. The woodgrain looks like agathis and fretboard resembles the ebonol of the vm squier.
