Is this a fake Jazz bass?

Thanks for the fast replies! I've just recieved these pics by email, so guess there's some sort of reason why it's these angles. Guess I'll just tell him to go to hell with this crap..

Or find a reliable guitar tech or salesperson locally to weigh in on it. If it's a Squier VM Fretless, it's got a street value of around $200-$250. If it's a fake, much less.
 
Hmmm Truss adjustment on the head stock end, not good.
Suppose you can't tell how many fret markers it has (20, 22, or 24).
The bass owner seems to have taken photos at deliberate angles as not to display too much, a picture of the whole thing would be better, and ask for the serial #.
Get him to specify is it a genuine "Fender Jazz standard" or a Squire, is it MIA, MIM, MIJ or MIC
