    Worship Bass Pedalboards

I thought about it but it’s $1K + and I’m not quite ready to spend that. I think I’m going to go Empress Comp and Eq for 1/2 the price.

Tuner, compressor then “blank” into combo amp?

Actually, maybe the Empress Bass Compressor and the Empress Bass ParaEQ would be a good combo. I like that Compressor and have used it before. The ParaEq is a nice eq that has high and low pass filters. And the boost would be nice for my one bass that has a lower output. Doesn’t quite “fill” the...

    👍🏻 I just don’t have a tiny board. 🤪

Tuner, compressor then “blank” into combo amp?

Well, I’m using this board with a combo amp that has eq. A 2nd preamp or eq has been mentioned. Genzler actually makes a nice eq pedal but that seems a little redundant. Genzler r/eq pedal into a Genzler amp? Although the eq points are different on each. And Nate Navarro does it on the Genzler...

Tuner, compressor then “blank” into combo amp?

The tone I need/use for this rig would be mostly clean and full. That’s why a compressor is there. Not sure I would ever use an “Ampeg” sort of tone (like with the HX One but I guess you never know. I like the idea of something I can tweak on the fly. Which is why I’m leaning to the Genzler...

I could leave it open, but that’s not a very “Talk Bass” response. 😎😉 I’m probably going to put a Genzler Magellan Preamp/DI after my HX Stomp on my board I use for my DI/IEM cover band gigs. I like the sound of my Genzler combo amp so that’s my logic there. I am curious about the Mantle and...

We don’t do big production, but I’d miss IEM’s. I did a gig with two acoustic guitars/vocals and we had wedges. Got a good, professional sound check and all, but it made me remember why I love IEM’s. I had him turn down my overall wedge volume two or three times. It was so loud. It’d be a...

Chorus was a thought as well. Can give that “fretless” vibe and chorus seems to be making a bit of a comeback from the 80’s.

Tuner, compressor then “blank” into combo amp?

That thought crossed my mind. I use an HX Stomp for my DI/IEM cover band gigs. The stuff I do with an amp doesn’t usually require much in the way of effects. An HX One would, of course, cover a lot of ground

I should clarify that I usually only bring one but it could be any of those.

So I have a Nano board I “need” to fill. I have a Sonic Research tuner, I think I’m going to try a Walrus Highpoint compressor, and I have space for something else. I’ll use this board with my Genzler MG350 113 combo for jazz gigs, pits, etc. Passive P, J and active 5’s. Thoughts?

I play in multiple groups. Never been an issue. Heck, people from church (same personnel in one cover band as the church band) come to hear us as they enjoy our playing. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I went with an iPad Air 13” and it worked for me outside on a sunny day. The Pro is AMAZING if you have the money.

Is the HX Stomp still a viable “center” to base a pedalboard from?

I’ll probably end up keeping it just because financially it makes sense and I’m the only one who is complaining about my sound. Maybe I’ll add an outboard compressor.

I appreciate the response. I am thinking GLXD to the stomp for my compression (it’s not too bad the way I have it), drive, chorus, pitch shift effects, and to the Genzler for my tweak on the fly and DI. I have a Nano+ with a DC7 so I can keep it tight and fits under my synth stand.
