For the noise, I would check the grounding and maybe do some sheilding around the pickup and wiring. And the staying in tune, have you replaced the strings? Also make sure that the strings slide smoothly in the nut, many tuning problems can be traced back to a nut that is too snug holding (or...

I have found a decent low cost replacement pickup for the Bronco, it is drop in with no mods required. It is a good choice for a bass because it is rated at 7k, not too hot like many rail humbuckers that you will find. If interested Just message me for the link to it, they are $19 shipped.

Glenn I like it, we must think alike. I actually bought two Prodigy humbuckers for mine, I didn't have a selector switch yesterday that I wanted to use so I put it together with the one pickup for now.

My latest Bronco. I just got this one from Sam Ash this morning, Fedex dropped it by around Lunch time. Getting a full inspection. The new parts. A Prodigy rail humbucker pickup, Fender push pull pot, Fender tone pot and Mustang knobs. Here it is completed.

I love the fit and feel of my Mustang, but I agree mine falls a little short in the sound department. My modded Bronco on the other hand is killer in the sound department, but the neck is on the wide side. I need to just combine the two. Invalid Link Removed

Thanks, that is whats listed. I like the 1.5, thats what my Mustang has. The Bronco's that I have been using for mod projects are a wider 1.6ish at the nut. I may have to spring for one of these for my next project.

That is bad ass, I have been debating on ordering one for a month. Nice bass. I know what the listings state. But what does the neck measure at the nut?

Thanks, I may look into one. I have had a number of Rondo guitars that I have really liked. I kinda favor the thinner jazz style necks, so it might be just what I would want in a 51.

Thanks I will do that. I'm kinda like Din of Win, I am a short scale player but I have a sweet spot for the 51.
