Need a Tuner that can register a Low G

UPDATE: picked up a Peterson Strobostomp 2nd hand for £35.00. Also a Harley Benton Micro tuner pedal for £12.00 just because. Loving them both. The harley is cheap & cheerful & tiny but deals with tuning the g at the harmonic like a trooper and it's really bright. Pretty fast too. The Peterson...

To those who only run their amps 'flat': why?

I usually get most of my tone and eq preferences sorted at preamp or eq pedal stages and run a DI before the amp so I tend to run my amp 'flat'. That way I'm hopefully hearing as close to what's heading to the desk as I can from my amp (which will of course colour the sound anyway) but then I'm...

    Need a harmonist pedal!

I'm normally a bit of a behringer fan (well) and the harmonist is still very good for it's £35.00 price (and then there's all the other functions it does do brilliantly on top of that (SWEEEEEEET DETUNE!)) but, the boss sounds far sweeter on the harmonies. While I don't regret buying the...

    Simple preamp for fretless?

+1 for the Source Audio programmable EQ, especially as it'll cover guitar or bass frequencies.

    Need a harmonist pedal!

I've had the behringer harmonist pedal over a year and still not managed to avoid it sounding very fake and 'plasticy' on the harmony settings, bass or guitar so I'd recommend avoiding that one. Fortunately for me the detune and whammy functions have made up for the harmony function so I still...

Need a Tuner that can register a Low G

Polytune 2 arrived and sadly it looks like it'll be going back. I may have a faulty one but after 2 hours with it tonight including trying all the above advice, adding in a preamp (for volume boost on my passive fender jazz 5) and/or compressor too, it's just not registering that low G at all...

Need a Tuner that can register a Low G

Cheers - good to consider. I've gone for the polytune 2. I'm already aware that the poly mode isn't as accurate but it's a handy tool I don't have anywhere else, I like having lots of options for stuff like that and I've got the space on the board. Gonna save the Turbo Tuner for the next round...

Who uses a "large" rig and recently went to a class D ultra light replacement, any regrets?

Other +1 for smaller amps. I picked up a TC BH250 as most of the gigs I've been playing I would have been borrowing a cab not most gigs I can rock up with a bass case and hardbox of tricks (with the head in it) and I'm done. it's really refreshing knowing I could actually take public transport...

Need a Tuner that can register a Low G

Looking into it it'll cost me at least £140.00, probably more like £160.00 and a fair wait to receive it... Whereas £55.00 will get me a Polytune 2 in my hand. Thank you everyone for your input, I'm gonna pickup a Polytune 2 now and look at importing a turbo in a few months. The polytune can...

Need a Tuner that can register a Low G

Ty for all the replies guys, I'm suspecting the turbo tuners the best way to go really but I'm gonna want to see how much UK customs are gonna tax me for for importing one before I really consider biting. in the meantime, I'll carry one with harmonics & octaves and Bassgeers advice.

    Worship Bass Pedalboards

Cool boards everyone. Me I've just rebuilt my whole fx setup since I'm now playing in a far smaller team (singers, acoustic & percussion only really) and I'm moving away from a setup centered around a basspod. So for worship Fender Jazz 5 String Hartke VXL Preamp Artec Graphic EQ (with tuner)...

    Good Stoner Doom\Drone Bassist Equipment

I'll bite too. I'd worry less about getting a good stoner doom amp and more about getting a good amp. Any good bassist will be able to get a decent sound for their style from just about any standard amp. So what's more important to you I guess your budget will guide most. First up, head & cabs...

Need a Tuner that can register a Low G

I'm looking to update my pedal tuner to one with a strobe option (and bass polytune if possible) and I've been looking at a Polytune 2 but after trying a few TC Electronics polytune models (but not the polytune 2) I've found they only go down to A on the 5th String. In one project I play a 5...

I was guessing that too but yeah I really should have stopped to think a bit more since it seems I then looked at delivery in the EU....D'oh! It's 75,33 AUD delivery to Australia.
