How do you use them?
I use a Nova delay (with a tad of modulation) and a volume pedal to do swells. It sounds awesome and I get a lot of compliments on it's ambience.
Rhythmically though, I can't see a use for either pedals unless it's ambience. From my experience, they really take away from the attack and muddy up bass.

The flanger I'm using for slower songs that I want 'movement' in. Just gives it a bit more interest. The delay I'm using to double up some notes. It can get muddy but shorter delay times seem to work for me and in the mix it's there but not massively there

No new pedals, but massively rearranged for Tetris and functionality on both the top and underneath with the MXR ISO-Brick. Also, everything but the Hub is now oriented correctly, which mostly satisfies my OCD.

Cool boards everyone.
Me I've just rebuilt my whole fx setup since I'm now playing in a far smaller team (singers, acoustic & percussion only really) and I'm moving away from a setup centered around a basspod.

So for worship
Fender Jazz 5 String
Hartke VXL Preamp
Artec Graphic EQ (with tuner)
EHX Nano BigMuff
Behringer Bass Chorus
Digitech Bass Synth Wah (set to clean octave in a worship setting)
Budda Chakra Compressor
Behringer DI121 (purely as DI)
Usually running into a little Vox T25B combo that sounds lovely paired with the Jazz (without the preamp) or a TC Electronics BH250 head (with the behringer chorus removed as I'll use a chorus toneprint instead)

I've got to add a tuner to the selection (but I need a robust one that'll cope with my other projects, one in GCGCF tuning, and while I fancy a polytune 2 I don't think it'll cope with that low G) and ideally replace the cheap chorus for a TC Corona.

Ha ha...no.

So my typical day on bass (which has been a while, unfortunately) is Empress Compressor and B7K on, Line6 noise gate on, and the rare fuzz/distortion for really energetic songs or a touch of modulation for something slow. I haven't played bass live since I really expanded my MIDI setup to include MIDI Designer and the Guitar Wing. Even more rare, but I've done it, are filters, pitchshifting, and yes, I've used a synth a handful of times (mostly back when I had a Markbass Supersynth; I don't think the Behringer has seen live action). However, it's really 90-95% compressor/B7K/M5 noise gate, and then 5-10% stuff on top of that.

A typical Sunday on guitar I use a lot more. The Multidrive is essential as I switch between clean, OD, and distortion. The compressor is on with lighter settings (2:1 vs 4:1 on bass, also different attack/release). I have infrequently used the Heavy for lead lines or a really aggressive tone. The Drop has some very specific songs it gets used on, but the other week the leader said, "hey, I need these next three songs a step down" and it worked great. Both H9s get tons of delay, pitch, and modulation work. The M5 used to get the delay work, its role has been reduced. I have my iPad on my music stand, but I do a lot of changes through the Guitar Wing. Still really need to work in the Reflex.

Thanks! This is actually my first board. Before this I'd just throw everything on the floor but decided to go this rout when the number of pedals I was using started increasing, haha. I'm digging it so far. The mounting system is great at times but not so great in some situations. Specifically for me for mounting my power supplies underneath. I ended up going with 2 sided tape & a single zip tie for each power supply to mount them securely underneath. A guitarist I play with has a really nice Salvage Custom board that seems to weigh a ton compared to mine. Really the power supplies are what adds the weight to my set up.

That Cali76 Comp really uses a lot of space. I have been running either a modded CS-3 (more bass mod) and an Aguilar TLC. Is that Cali76 really awesome? It is sure big. :)

I have an Aguilar ToneHammer serving my EQ/DI needs and I have a Daring Audio Edge Enhancer HD for more EQ needs.

I know what the octave pedal does, I have a Micro POG for that. Most of those other pedals I don't know anything about.

I use a ModTone AquaChorus for some Chorus. I got it cheap and it seems to work ok on slow songs with the fretless. I have a Big Muff pi Bass, which is worthless for my needs, I need to move it on. Have a freeze pedal that I have used about 3 times. I have a few other pedals that I use occasionally. Thought about getting one of those EHX B9 or C9 pedals.

Thanks for that. I had kind of wondered about attaching power sources underneath them. I'm toying with the idea of just making a custom board for my big one with some help from my dad (does a lot of wood work). I'm about to start running a two board setup, with one being my Meatsmoke and Enabler and other preamps for a clean and rock tone, and then my big board for fuzz and modulation and synth sounds. That way if the gig only calls for a basic rock sound I can go with the small board versus bringing a gigantic one. Anyway, really cool board, with a lot of cool effects on it. It is always great to find a WL that encourages us bass players to get a little crazy.

Nice! The Cali76 is HUGE & I do wish it was significantly smaller but it does have a manic to it that makes dealing with the size factor. I used to own both an Empress Compressor & Effectrode PC-2A along with the Cali76 at one time & the Cali76 is the only one left. I'm considering getting one of the new compact series Cali's that just came out so free up some pedalboard space.

I'll run through the pedals real quick. Grombass is an overdrive/distortion. Schism is a 2 channel parallel looper that allows for some pretty cool blending options. Meatwad is a filter. Quasar DLX is a phaser. Density Hulk is a sub. Shape is a EQ pedal. Polytope is a chorus & the Context is a reverb.

That's awesome man! Two boards would be sweet. I'm trying to squeeze all my needs (clean, rock & synth tones) on one board but it's a pretty tight squeeze & I'd like to add more but I've pretty much run out of space. I've had my eye on that Meatsmoke for a while. I saw your killer set up a couple pages back. Are you running the Meatsmoke at the beginning or end of your signal chain?
