What is your favorite bass for playing rock?

For rocking hard I rely on a 4 string Wal MK II and a Lakland Skyline 5 string. I found the Wal a very versatile instrument, the 2 low pass filter + pick attack + harmonic boost + eq in pedalboard allows to get in the ballpark of almost any tone. Lakland isn't as versatile but the sound need...

iso thru box or alternative ways of splitting question...

Splitting signal with a tuner/stereo pedal/whammy will result as a tone loss, even buffered. Radial's devices will output the same signal with the original gain intact. The problem of the most pedal that offers a dry out/stereo out is that signal is splitted 50-50%, in some cases , like the...

We covered quite all the fx in the chain in this thread, but the problem I'm experiencing is in the stage of the chain where I have to split my clean+fx with the grit channel and then send both signals to two amps or to the ls-2 to be reblended. I've tried many methods (buffered tuners, buffered...

The LS-2 is an underrated tool, in my opinion. It's useful in many situations, compared to the price! Every one will benefit owning at least one those devices, regardless the musical instrument played.

I'm guessing...I play in a local Tool Tribute Band named Töl and actually I use the ls-2 to blend grit and clean when my gig has only one cabinet. For sure this is not a Canchellor problem so I think he use the ls-2 for grouping fxs that have to be engaged/disingaged at the same time (the pot...

Sure, I'll do it! ASAP I'll post some samples of the tone for a more consistent discussion about that. It is more representative a DI recording or a miked cabinet ? @Toolmybass mixed both, I 'd like to know if standing in front of his unmiked cabinet without DI blend has the same feel as the...

Ahah yes that's the body of my Wal. Remaining in topic...I use a Diesel DAWG to achieve the tipical Tool Chancellor grit with good results. My chain begins with a clean loop (tremolo->whammy->gt2->CE-5->BF-2->Delay->Envelope) signal that goes to my buffered tuner where I split it, one signal...

August 2015! I mailed to Phil on June asking for being informed when a unfinished/stock wal would become available (it happens, from time to time). After few days he replied with a mail containing body and neck photos of my Wal ready for assembly. After 2 months...et voilà...His Majesty at my...

Hi my friends! I'm a 4 string Wal mkII owner and I actually play in a Tool tribute band. I well know that different Wals has slightly different tones, I just wonder which are the most popular settings for the onboard pre/filter eq. My settings: Vol: 9 not pulled Neck filter: 9 pulled Bridge...
