    All-New Ampeg SCR-DI!

Just got home from NAMM. I spent just a little time with this pedal and Dino. It is not an SVT pedal, Tech 21 does that a little better imo. This is much more versatile. Great tones from just about any setting. It sounds Ampeg just not SVT Ampeg. You almost cant make it sound bad. The Scrambler...

Did Gene Simmons influence your decision to play bass?

First album I ever bought was Destroyer. That Christmas I asked for a bass and amp. So, yes. a HUGE influence both musically but also as a performer/entertainer. In rock and roll, the live show is every bit as important as the recording.

Anyone know where rock is still alive?

Was and always has been Los Angeles and New York as the rock meccas. Now, is there any good talented rock? Thats a better question.

The Hal Leonard Bass Method thread

For the early chapter material, I would play a few times clean and move on. As I progress, it becomes more important to truely understand what the exercie is teaching you. Playing the few examples only scratches the surface for me. I play them and than I practice my own variations of whatever...

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome ( CTS ) Info

TomB is giving good advice. There are many health concerns that can cause symptons similar to CTS. In fact, many of them can be quite serious. I would also recommend a hand specialist. But make sure that the problem is accurately diagnosed. I had three opinions on mine. The first surgeon, I was...

Do you own Nirvana - Nevermind

I'm 48 and own and love the album. This album changed the direction of Rock Music. It was headed in a bad direction, this changed it for the better, regrettably though, rock has veered off once again.

    2014 Winter NAMM Show - Jan 23-26, 2014

UUUHHHHH, the crowds, people coughing and sniffing, the pushing and shoving, the expensive food and drink, the walking, etc. Every year I say this is it, I dont need to go anymore. Yet, each year I scrounge my contacts for a pass and get really excited about going.

The Hal Leonard Bass Method thread

I have been following this post and thougth I would jump in. I purchased the 3 book set myself and started from the beginning. I have played music since elementary school, but had not played for the last 15 years. The music reading part has been coming back to me very quickly, though I always...

GC / Mesa divorce good for bass players?

I agree JimmyM. I actually like GC. I dont rely on them for my research. I do that on my own. They serve an important part of the purchase chain. Whethter it be the ability to demo products there, or be able to pick up something direclty as opposed to being mailed to you, or simply meet other...

GC / Mesa divorce good for bass players?

I am thinking the same thing. Thank you. I am only about an hour from the Mesa Hollywood store. I know I could bring it there for any problems. I wonder if I could get the casters and cover still. I mean it should have come with it. They sold it as new not used. At minimum, I will get rid...
