CANT GET WARWICK 0.040" -TO 0.100" ANY MORE ?

Well if you only want warwicks a .005 jump isn't very hard, if you want a lighter gauge sound though (although i'm sure the sound won't change much) you could buy a different kind of string? Don't know what happen but Warwick usually knows what they're doing with sound so it probably makes for...

Still thinking of wood to get to make a bass. My thought for a bass currently is: Bubinga fretboard, Shedua body, and Wenge neck, Jazz pickups, 5 string, bassline pickups, aguilar electronics, and don't know about the rest. Based on the information what would i sound like?

    Rhythm Guitarists

Of course a good rhythm guitarist is good, but i think a bass player has his part in the song and a rhythm guitarist has his. A lot of rhythm guitarist just play like the bassist but with chords, those are the kind I don't like.

    Rhythm Guitarists

I like what they do and i guess it sounds decent but I think they kind of take anyway part of my presence and role in the band. does anyone else think this?

    Which rig?

Also he brings up a good point with the Ohms. look at Ohms and wattage when buying these things.

    Which rig?

I think you should pick eden head and use ampeg cabs, sounds like a hell of a mixture to me. As long as you have a car and a dolly to move the cabs you should be fine. you know one of these:http://www.exhibitoronline.com/exhibitormagazine/exhibitorquiz/images/tradeshowquiz/A_large.jpg

    Not feeling it (practice)

If you arent feeling it you can always change it til you feel it works for you, and the rest of the band probably wont notice if you keep it subtle.

    Rickenbacker pros/cons

Yes, Haha beause of this thread I'm going to one day buy a Ric, see if I can get my kind of tone out of it, if I can I'll keep it, if not I will sell it (probably will sell it because they don't make 5 strings anymore, I only own 5 strings, but I suppose there's room for change ). Kind of made...

    Rickenbacker pros/cons

haha sorry guys didn't see motorhead. But anyways guys no matter what they sound like I know that I generally don't like the tones of them, there are a few exceptions (Old "Tool" before Justin Chancellor being one of them). I prefer almost any Wariwck or ESP or etc.

    Rickenbacker pros/cons

All those bands are still fairly mellow. I really think the Rics are too trebley and don't possess enough mids, but that's just my opinion and to each his own.

    my heavy gauge question

Okay so I'm thinking of using some pretty thick strings on my old bass (so I'll still play it, opposed to my main bass, mainly using it for beating dropped 8 string guitars out of my frequency) and I'm thinking of using 165-145-125-105-85, which I would want setup either C#F#BEA or BEADG. My...

    Rickenbacker pros/cons

I like ric's but in my opinion they just can't play them in a modern band. They have a great unique tone but they just aren't very capable of cutting through in modern metal and probably not even modern rock. but by myself or in a more mellow band, they are nice, maybe not 1600 great but i don't...

How to get a warwick growl without a warwick bass?

I agree if u want Warwick sound you have to buy Warwick, but a few basses ive played come some what close, try an ESP B (i used a 205) shockingly I compared it to a corvette, in a shop, if you dial the eq right, you can get some what close.
