Ehx mole may add the tone you describe. I love mine, picked one up for 20 used, worth every penny for me, im horrible with the eq and this made getting the right tone a tad easier for me.

The trufire ,stu hamm lessons along with scottsbasslessons, how-to-playbass.com and studybass are all you need, along with talkbass of course. The trufire lessons really are top notch, same for scotts.
