    G&L Club Part 7

I don’t believe the L-1500 used any different body than the L-2000. I believe that the L-1500 came out in late ‘96, and that the L-series body was downsized at the waist in ‘98, so there aren’t a ton of L-1500s out there with the old L-series body. I have seen some on Reverb. They look a little...

    G&L Club Part 7

The first small batch of L-1500 bodies used the L-2000 body and just omitted the neck pickup, so the lone pickup was in the actual location of the L-2000 bridge pickup. I believe it was a pretty small number, maybe around 10 or so that were made this way. Then they moved the pickup into the...

    A work in progress

I always enjoy your builds. This one is no exception.

    Definitely the black guard.

    G&L MJ4 PUP & Pre

I’d recommend checking the pickup cavity sizes before you buy anything. I know the Tribute JB-2 used an identical size for each pickup, and the US JB-2 used different sizes. Not sure where your body was made or if the Tribute MJ-4 used the same sizes like the JB-2 did. Worth checking before...

    G&L Club Part 7

The seller was a G&L retailer, so I’d imagine the price is pretty in line with what G&L’s recommended pricing was. That’s a pretty unique and tricked out Fallout that you likely won’t see many like it (if any). I’m guessing the hollow body and top add quite a bit to the cost. It’s probably on...

    G&L JB2 Electronics

5 holes would have been the MJ-4 body.

    G&L JB2 Electronics

Yes, passive. But the cavity route follows the L-2000 routing template, so it does have room if you want to add a preamp.

Which pickguard would you use on this P?

    Black gets my vote

    G&L Club Part 7

You should get the same amount of low end volume in series as you did with the OMG, but you should hear more pronounced upper mids.

Any DIY pedal builders on TB? Strut your stuff!

I’ve done a few kits in the past (BYOC, GGG), but this is my first go at a point to point circuit. LPB-1 in a 1590B. A learning experience for sure. I didn’t get the in and out jacks aligned perfectly when drilling, and had to do a bit of experimenting with the layout. PTP is quite an art...

    Is this a good deal? G&L L-2000 for $400

Yes, definitely, which is why I said

    Is this a good deal? G&L L-2000 for $400

Assuming everything is fine with it… If it’s a Tribute, it’s a good deal, but not an amazing, drop-everything-and-run-to-get-it sort of deal. If it’s a US-made, it’s a “you’d be stupid not to” deal.

    Lakland Owners Group #69

New to me, just got this 55-02 from the classifieds here. My first foray into Lakland. So far, I’m really enjoying it. The ergonomics and balance is great. And I love the natural ash body and rosewood fretboard look. Shame they don’t still offer that. I’m not a big 5 string player. It won’t...
