I have had an '03 Rockbass Corvette for about 6 months. It is a beautiful bass and a lot of fun to play. The only thing that bugs me about it is if I have the bass turned up all the way the pre amp seems to get overdriven when I play the B string. And it's not a good overdrive. Is this normal...

I know this is an old thread, but has anyone used the Phil Jones 47 with a 5 string? Can it handle the lows?

I third the idea of finding a motion b. Great basses for a good price. Btw, that is a sweet one you have there RodRy, exactly the same model as mine only less used. The gold isn't worn off.

Wow, I did not expect so many great responses. Thank you. I realized yesterday that I don't have a headphone jack on my phone, so whatever I get will need bluetooth. I will look into several of these suggestions. Cheers all, J

Thanks for your response CheapBass, I do use a small Bluetooth speaker and have my amp pretty low, and it usually doesn't bother my family. The metronome and playing a small part of a song over and over can get annoying for some. I may just keep with what I'm doing... we'll see. J

I am looking for a way to practice quietly. I know I can use the output jack on my amp, but I can't put a song on at the same time or use a metronome (I use an app for that). What do you folks use for this? Thanks for your time, J

Hi folks, I have a Yamaha Motion mbII that has a 32" scale. I have a broken string and none of the stores in my town have medium scale strings. Is their any reason why I can't cut a long scale to make it fit? It is my only bass right now so I am feeling fairly impatient.

I just got a new Motion B, I am really having a great time with it! It feels so nice to play and I love the sound. I am a newbie and am just learning about pickups, can anyone tell me about these? I understand that the soapbar pickups can be just about anything, jazz, humbucker and more.

That's cool fourstringbliss, hijack away! Honestly, I'm just trying to figure out what to buy. I'm getting back into bass and I'm looking for something decent to play. I'm renting right now, I don't want that to last a whole lot longer.
