I have weird intonation issues with 760Fl’s as well………. And it’s often the lowest G (E string, third fret) that’s slightly out of tune even when intonation is spot on at the 12th fret and above. To be fair, I have a bad habit of removing and reinstalling my flats, probably too often.

I have no experience with the clipping of a stock Sushibox UA, because I ordered mine with a 12AU7 for max clean headroom. I’ll admit that I wanted an affordable alternative to a Noble just to dip my toes in the tube-pre pedal waters. So far so good.

I knew it had something funky like that going on, but I wasn’t sure of the specifics. Thanks!

I put the compressor at the beginning of the chain, right after the tuner. Then DCX in overdrive mode, feeding the Broughton SV-Pre, and into the Neve DI. Here’s how it sounded today with a P Bass wearing GHS Precision Flats…

Just got my DCX Bass in yesterday to shoot out against my Broughton SV-Pre. With a P bass I greatly prefer the SV-Pre clean, with the DCX used as a drive/boost feeding into the SV-Pre. My MTD may be a different story, but I generally bypass my external preamps when running the MTD either way...
