I continue to like the Tone Hammer/AGS core tone into the Mantle. Several team mate comments about the clarity of the bass tone in the IEMs.

I love the 385 and it is so underutilized by bass players.

Essentially a kilt v1 with no bass cut and top jacks. You can use the second channel as a boost or second drive. The 385 has a fuzz setting as well but it’s not gated like the kilt.

I did a comparison last year and drive sound is identical to the kilt.

Lack of good octave options in the QC mini drove me crazy and am probably selling it. So confused how something can sound so good and have so much processing power but can’t do that. the HX stomp is running circles around it when it comes to good tracking octaves.

I’ll send you my micro synth settings but it involves running through the Walrus 385 in the fx loop.

Oh no.... another drive to check out. Its like the Kilt in some of the lower gain switch settings?

First time trying the Octabvre before compression. I had always assumed it would track better after but putting it before was a noticeable improvement. I think it has to do with the buffer in the Cali76 but now it tracks down to F# which is crazy even though I wouldn’t go below A or it gets crazy muddy.

Do you find that the compressor after the octave machines triggers the compressor more than you intend? I had that happening with the Bass Microsynth (the compressor would really grab the pedal more than I wanted). So, I placed the compressor first.

I think the hpf side chain in the cali76 takes care of that issue but I use the Octabvre as a sub synth when I don’t need or have key bass so compression actually helps sound more synthy.

I love the Ages pedal but when I tried the kilt it hooked me on the sound of drive without a blend and the Ages needs the blend to bring the bass back in.

The soft clipping modes of the Ages are great at giving you a compressed drive sound without much breakup. That’s what you can hear in this video.
