Constant buzz on 8-11th frets G string

That's what I was thinking. I've concluded a ski jump or maybe those frets are too low for some reason. I'll have to measure again just to be sure. I hope it's not a ski jump but usually they occur down near the very end of the neck where plate meets (from what I've seen anyway).

Constant buzz on 8-11th frets G string

I had the 2nd fret replaced a while back and my tech did a leveling and everything was fine. I even leveled it again to make sure and still getting the buzz. I have no idea what is going on. Maybe a bad string?

Constant buzz on 8-11th frets G string

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I check for Loose fret ends with a piece of wood and nothing they seem to be in pretty good. I even tried tapping them down with a fret installer and a light hammer and no major changes.

Constant buzz on 8-11th frets G string

hey TB, I'm having an issue that I can't figure out. I'm getting bad buzz on the g string 8-11 frets. I've tried almost everything now. I have done a leveling twice and crowned them to my best ability with what I have, tried truss adjustments more relief, less relief, neck reset, adjusting...

    twisted neck question

do a trial and error. if it's around the 7th 10fret you may need a little bit of relief, but raising the action might do it too. When your working with a twisted neck all the measurements are a bit off and you usually just have to go by feel. I'm surprised you're just getting buzz there and all...

Yeah I always cut mine down a little bit more with jeweler files and have that small angle in.

Rerouting Input To Side of P-Bass [Righty to Left Conversion]

Are you flipping the nut around? If so you can totally use the same one. I am a lefty have never seen a lefty nut for a fender. I just flip them since the radius is symmetrical. I do it on lefty basses.

    Warwick Just A Nut question

I don't think so. The only reason it should be different is if the radius differs between rightys and leftys. Fretboard radiuses should be equal on both sides so that a nut can be put in anyway you want. I have all lefty basses and I just bought a regular fender nut and put it in. Works just...

Loose bridge pickup on J bass

If the screws are loose, I've had luck with cutting small dowels out and glueing them in the holes and redrilling for the correct size screw. Maybe try bigger pickup screws? The popping sound you're getting is from a lack of pressure under the pickup. So as the other guys said, add more of that...

No sound from center of pickup

No sound from center of pickup

Hey talkbass! I need your help on this one..I just realized the problem to my dilemma when my D string bends lose sound whenever I'm soloing the neck pickup. no it wasn't action, setup, pickups being too close or too far, but I decided to open the thing up and take a look. There's seems to be...

    Odd pickup issue.

I'm not having any problem with the bridge, but the neck, and it's dropped down to a good height where I like the tone of the pup soloed and mixed with the bridge. The pole pieces don't exactly line up with the strings either, but I've tried all sorts of things like adjusting the bridge spacing...

    Yes my beloved jazz bass!

    Odd pickup issue.

Maybe I can get some help here with this one. I have a jazz bass. Whenever I bend My D string down the string will lose a ton of tone and become quiet and have a chorus like effect, and when I bring it back down it's normal output again. It's not a setup/action issue, there is no buzz being it...

    dimarzio 123 wiring question...

The black and white wire should be grounded together and tapered off into the pickup cavity, the red wire is hot(goes to middle lug) and green is ground(ground to back of pot).
