    Grateful Dead reunion

It sounded better in my head.. It doesn't make much sense. Lol I still think if not anything else, Trey deserves the spot more than most. John Scofield would have been a very good choice also, but that would be based solely on playing ability.

    BEST BASS CABS FOR RECORDING

When close micing the size of the speaker really doesn't matter. Finding the sound you're looking for is much more important. Look for the sound, not the size.

    BEST BASS CABS FOR RECORDING

If you're limited by space it really depends on how you plan to record. Will bands be recording "live" together or separate? If they're recording together you may need something big like you mentioned. But if they're recording separate you can easily get away with a 50(or smaller) watt combo...

    Grateful Dead reunion

The way I think of it, switch the two bands completely. Had Phish started in the 60's and Trey passed away people would be saying the same thing about him and Phish. That alone is enough for me to standby what I said. I'm not a super fan of Phish.. I like them much more than a lot of the "jam"...

    Grateful Dead reunion

Who else could they have picked really? Trey is a perfect fit for this. Trey is just as influential as Jerry was when it comes to his style on guitar(any naysayer is just being silly). Sure, the GD really pushed the genre forward, but Phish has done the same and in a time when the genre has...

    Hearing protection

Much like a musical instrument, it's personal taste. Some people swear by customs, some by foam or reusable non-molded ear plugs. As long as they fit right, don't hurt your ears while they're in, and work correctly, you can get away with non-customs. As long as you're wearing ear plugs and your...

    String questions..

I mostly misread or didn't click on the links to the different strings I was asking about. I didn't know about length which is why I asked, the rest I'm fairly confident I know. But thanks for the useful links. :)

    String questions..

They don't, sadly. That was the first brand I checked for. I can afford any strings on their website as they're not too expensive, I just don't have the cash for new strings right now. GHS, D'Addario, and Rotosound are the brands I'm seeing there that are being talked well about on here.

    String questions..

It's bridge load, so long scale. The signature series I'm looking at are Flea GHS's(45-100) and Beatle LaBella DTB (50-100) I don't know if that's "signature" or just what they're called. I bought Chromes yesterday not knowing I need long scale and broke a string while changing them so although...

    String questions..

I bought a Fender P-Bass yesterday and would like to put flats on it. Because of money constraints I can only really afford to buy them from Best Buy(yay for giftcards). While looking through the selection, I found a lot of the brands that people have talked about on here, but the kinds on there...

    Finger placement question.

Went out and bought a Mexi Fender P-Bass. Action is beautifully better and now I'm having no issues. Thank you everyone for your responses and helpful tips. :)

Advice Needed...I have no idea what I'm doing

Are you hitting your preamp too hard or do you possibly have phantom power on when not needed?
