Hi, Looking for opinions on my rig for small gigs. I have a GK 1001RB-II head with a 4x10 cab and a SansAmp Programmable DI on my pedal board. I'm curious, if I have a small gig, can I run the GK DI out directly to the PA without a cabinet connected or would I be better served by skipping...

Ha! Perhaps... Side note: are there any device that could be put in between a high powered amp and a lower rated cabinet as a buffer? I just hate to buy two full separate rigs...

That was the same comment I received from GK support. Keep the volume below 9 o'clock and the 1x15 should be OK.

Thanks - was considering a 1x15 NEO cab...lots of contraversy over mixing cabs with my 4x10... I've been a guitarist for 26 years and a bass player for 1. So, I'm getting my head around this rig thing...lol

Hey Bassheads, I have a GK 1001RB-II head. I'm looking to choose a small, light, and compatible cabinet for really small gigs. (I already have a GK NEO 4x10 and it's a bit big at times, but the NEO 1x15 won't handle the power). Recommendations?

Good looking out...If I do decide to do this, I will wait until after the Mayan calendar ends, just to be extra safe.

Just thinking out loud here... Just went on GK's site and noticed that Flea is rolling (3) 4x10 cabs and (3) 1/15 cabs in his rig. I'm sure he's running through the PA too, and I would bet the PA has different drivers as well... hmmmm....
