I was looking at one of the newer GK 15" combo's since I really don't need a 212. Had this owner not dropped to $300, I wouldn't have bought it.

Definitely a drawback for sure. I plan to take both to the next few gigs and see what our sound engineer thinks from the back of the room. (of course we run subs, but you know what I mean)

Right... the comparison is only that I own both. I do like the weight of the 800, and it definitely does the job. The difference is like a plain cheeseburger vs a plain cheeseburger and adding BBQ sauce lol.

Earlier in the year, after being tired of hauling amps and cabinets around, I jumped and bought a new Rumble 800 combo. Honest opinion... it's loud and punchy, tone is decent. I love the fact that it's 29 pounds or whatever. I think I paid just over $725 shipped. Good deal I guess...

They are 8 ohm. So yes, considering this amp doesn’t have an external speaker option, you probably should go back with an 8 ohm. If it had the external speaker option, you could drop it to 4 ohms and not use the external speaker option… giving you full power to the single driver.

Its got the Gotoh bridge and tuners. Tuners look to be a direct replacement. He said he thinks he still has the originals but didn't like the black knobs and headstock then chrome tuners and bridge.
