I am a lover of modern bass tech, vintage holds little value to me. I love the punch, crunch and growl of modern electronics. And if i was going to build a bass, i was considering filling the whole thing with pickups. I know that is stupid and a circuitry nightmare, but i just like the idea...

Why would you sell a little Mark II! are you crazy? I think your ears need an overhaul. My guitarist just sits there and turns the knobs cuz he says it feels good! thats how awesome it is. Also try Aguilar.

The jazz bass is more flexible in tone and style, and I find they can handle everything a p-bass can, especially in the budget range. Squire basses are a good start, but you maybe be able to afford something fancier, check out ebay stores for new custom basses, they aren't stamped with fender...

I have a beautiful fender jazz deluxe. On my one, when you touch the blend knob, it hisses very loudly. I'm pretty sure it needs replacing which is easy but I'm not sure what pot to get or where to get it? any help is much appreciated!

I've decided to sell my ME-20B as it is quite frankly, crap. I thought it would be good to put the money and some more into buying some stomp boxes. I am looking for pedals that are reasonably affordable and useful. If you can tell me about some of the pedals you can't do without i'll be glad...

here my opinions on p basses. If you absolutely must by a bass that is a fender and it has to be super warm, fork out the cash for the pino special. Otherwise there isn't much a fender p can do the the front pickup of a nice j can't. if your planning to stick in extra pups like so many others...

i'll do some research for you man try looking at combos for that price. Fender rumbles make a big sound for the price, don't think head phones do bass justice.

this talented muso kid was telling me about instruments he played. He said cello, piano, guitar and bass. I said "bass, cool!" he replied well i can play guitar so bass is just a step down. Hate that kid

Can't agree more, she rocks the house, sooo funky with monster tone. And what sets her apart from other chick bassists is that when you put a bass on a lot of girls, it looks to big and heavy and there isn't much control, or so it would seem. Me'shell is totally different and it is scary how...

Wouldn't you just love to play an Fodera emperor II. Heaps of pro use them, especially Richard bona (at least some fodera 5 string). They look so cool!

The sadowsky vs fender debate i find interesting. I find that they look and play similarly, A bass player to check is a chick called Tal Wilkenfeld. She played with miller and Jeff meck and stuff. She is currently doing fusion stuff with Wayne Krantz, which i saw live and it was great...
