    Amp Conundrum - Please Help!

I've run the gamete of amps in similar genres and I'd also say an Ampeg V4, V4B, or SVT. A V4 through big fabs is my favorite heavy bass sound and fuzzes get a tube compression that will have that Dunwich singing with less fizz than the DG. Honorable mentions for other 100+ watt tunes amps...

Warwick Thumb Bolt On Neck Pocket Crack

This happens on Fenders often enough when the the neck pocket screws were over-torqued. In those cases, most people ignore it. If you move ahead, start low with your offer, you have a good reason.

    Open Mic Drama...

This was my thought. It shows good faith by the community and doesn't hurt anyone. I've seen this done a few times over the years for scene supports. IIR, YouTuber Max Volume Silence, who films heavy shows around NYC, had some gear stolen a few years back and they had a successful crowd...

Why is Radiohead not as appealing to older people as Pink Floyd?

I am again reminded my taste differs from most. Born in '81, so I'm an anomaly to this thread, these are two of my favorite bands! I think Pink Floyd's Animals and Radiohead's Kid A/Amnesiac are near perfect albums! Creep is fine, but I never loved it. I think The Wall has a few bangers, but...

Pickups for a 5 string Billy Sheehan bass

That clarifies things a bit. I don't think you concept is flawed, I'd say make sure you are tight with what you want. Respectfully, more low end and Billy Sheehan are different in my brain: Billy has a huge frequency spectrum with a unique setup, augmented by multiple pickups, amps, gain...

Pickups for a 5 string Billy Sheehan bass

I guess what I'm wondering is what are you looking for? You can probably get closer to the Sheehan sound with a creative HX Stomp patch than modding a short scale, 5-string w/ jazz pickups. You have expressed dislike for the elements that make the Sheehan basses unique, and you are starting from...

    US: West Colorado Club

Does anyone have leads on a vocal coach who works with adults? I live in Erie, so local to the Denver/Boudler area. Bonus points if they have awareness or pointers on singing and playing.

Why This $300 Bass Has the Internet Divided and Why You Might Love It

I thought it was a nice review from someone who has been member of TB since 2013. If Sonojono was given the bass or something like that, it should be disclosed, but maybe he purchased it, it's cheap enough. The content is pretty in line with his Youtube reviews of budget basses (Squier...

    Lightest Option for a BrokeDink

there's a thread here where someone had an Epi Jack Casady bass that's 7 lbs and a few ounces. With some upgraded tuners, removing the pick guard, you might be around and even 7lbs. I might start with a call to Sweetwater, as they sometimes weigh their basses. You can always buy elsewhere, but...

Headphones for home practice and live tone setting with HX Stomp?

At $40, I like the MEE Audio M6 Pro. It's an in-ear headphone that come on my radar in Adam Neely's "How In-Ear Monitors are Making Better Musicians" video. They are cheap and sound pretty good for the $. If your stomp is on the floor, you may need and extension cable. They get bonus points...

You can hear Blake Mills use it w/ on the Pino Tiny Desk around 13:30. I love this video.

    Acoustic Bass (5 string)

I have had a dean eabc 5b for about a decade and it's cool for around the house/campfire/backyard hang instrument. I wanted a 34" instrument. The b-sting isn't great and have considered trying a high-c, but it's a low priority. I think I'd prefer a 4, but I got the bass in a trade, and it's good...

    Double Bass Yamaha BEF-2

    Double Bass YAMAHA EUB Megathread

On AUB, I play the bass relatively high (nut at or above my ear) and stand so that the back bass side seam touches my hip/belly to make bowing the E-string easier and allows me to use more arm weight to hold the strings (instead of standing on the side of the bass and squeezing, the reason I...

what lightweight 212 cab to get? ( DG 212 or ampeg ventrure 212 )

I have a pair of DG 2x12's and I like them. I typically just use one.
