    Rack mount setup.

Experiment with compressor placement. Before amp, in the loop before eq, and in the loop after eq all sound VERY different

    It's Up to You

Oh come on! If you can't get 20 people into a club then you're just not trying, no matter what the market you're in. Promote, flyer, get on local radio, go other similiar shows and hand out flyers/demos, offer to buy a beer for the first 20 people through the door, whatever. I bounce at a...

    Preamp tubes in an SWR?

I have an SWR sm400s that I love. I've had it for probably 12 years or so no...and the preamp tube is finally, really, truely dead. Anybody have any experience with what sounds good in these amps? I actually get a fair amount of midrange grit out of it, which always surprises people, so...

How to do a "sealed" paintjob on swamp ash?

not too bad. I apply it with a thick piece of card stock used as a squeegee, so youre 90 percent of the way there already. Also, I am firmly of the opinion that 5 minutes spent doing a better sanding job early saves 10 minutes of frustrating 'fix-it' work later on...get the porefill situation...

    Softened finish

contact with silicone can do this. the pads on many guitar stands have silicone in them, and they tend to touch right at that very spot

    Flat finish process

Wood filler shows through finishes. Its subtle, but its there, especially on matte solid color. Dont do a hack job and bondo the body...do it right and sand it to 320, raise the grain, sand it with 400. Spray seal coats, sand, spray color, spray a few coats of clear with flattening agent added...

All-Tube Power Amp to pair with svp-pro

and significantly higher voltages all around, so if everything isnt done pretty perfectly you get arching, magic smoke release, etc There is a reason that everyone, and i do mean everyone, recommends starting small on tube diy. On top of which, you can find a used 300 watt power amp for less...
