What is the best passive bass guitar you have played in your life?

P-bass for me. I have a '62 re-issue that sounds so good when it's recorded

    Good headphones for practice?

I use V-Moda headphones - they are the bomb!

Recommend me some strings (single coil p bass content!)

I would probably use flat wounds on a 50's style p-bass like that. Maybe try some La Bella's

    Sei Owner's Club (Part 3)

Here's my new Sei Jazz, built January 2012 after only 9 months! The body is a 1-piece swamp ash with a birdseye maple neck and abalone inlays on the rosewood fingerboard. The pickups are Bartolini's and the preamp is an East Uk J-Retro. I can't tell you how well it plays and sounds. I couldn't...

    Bloody yr2000 Fenders!

No, the frets. They were filed around the 9th fret. Hence the rant on quality control...

    Bloody yr2000 Fenders!

I've already had to get a re-wind on the neck pickup and search eBay for an original 60's replacement screw for one of the tuners but other than that it's original as far as I know. It does look like at some point someone has tried to attack the truss rod without taking the neck off...! But it...

I agree. The Classic Vibe models are really good.

    Bloody yr2000 Fenders!

I have a Lakeland 55-02 which developed an issue with it's jack socket where it would just intermittently 'pop' so it needed replacing. It also buzzes on the high C on the G-string. I'm not too happy with the Lakeland's sound when recorded too. To me, the p-bass sounds like a much better quality...

    Bloody yr2000 Fenders!

I took it to the Gallery and they said the frets were unevenly finished so I had to get the fret stone done to get the action lower without fret buzz. The bridge was put on to get more sustain from the bass when using flats. I shouldn't have mentioned the bridge really because there was...

    Bloody yr2000 Fenders!

I'm not overly convinced with the quality of Fenders made after the year 2000. I have a 1966 jazz bass that I've owned for nearly 10 years now, and apart from the neck pickup needing a re-wind, it has never put a foot wrong. I also have a 90's P-bass and Strat and again, they have never put a...
