Regarding the bass, I'm a big Alembic fan. I don't know how you can go wrong and they hold their value. This was 1/3 cost of $10,000 so buy 3 of them!

This 1985 Alembic Spoiler. The best bass I have ever played. Never goes out of tune, 32 scale is perfect, monster bottom end and 24 frets of shredding goodness. Got it here off the classifieds last February. Look at that honey color in the sun! Stunning! My precious!
