Need advice: Peavey Milestone II or Daion Savage

I'm a high school band director, and we have 2 basses in our inventory to use with our jazz band. One is a Daion Savage that is a PJ bass. The other is a Peavey Milestone II that is a P bass. Both are 4-string basses. I have a set of D'Addario round wound strings on both. I'm not sure of the...

I can’t speak for the NXT, but I tried the Subway side-by-side with the HDN 112. I preferred the HDN. It had much better bottom end, which surprised me. I had listened to clips of the Subway Mesa 115 and really liked what I heard. To me, hearing it live was much different. The tweeter on the...

I don't know the crossover frequency or slope, so I don't want to presume to adequately answer your question. However, I can comfortably say that if you have the VLPF set all the way down at 1KHz, you are rolling off most of the frequency content that the tweeter would handle. Whatever reached...

Song's You Might Not Want to Play at Weddings

The first one that came to mind is: Then I thought of a memory from my first high school job (I'm a band director). As part of our half-time show, we played "Send in the Clowns." The best part happened at the Homecoming game. For the presentation of all the Homecoming Queen nominees, they...

If you could snap your fingers and play in any band at any period of time?

Boston, especially in the early days. I love every song they did. I’d love to have sat in with Tom Scholtz and Brad Delp.

If you couldn't play Bass anymore......

I played piano/keys and drums long before I ever started bass. I love bass the most, but I could go back and do either drums or keys again if needed. In my current Band, I already double up doing some keyboard duty on certain songs, especially intros before bass comes in.

    Cutting Flatwounds

I agree with @smo. Just be sure to make a 90-degree bend in the wire about an inch below where you are going to cut. That will keep things put so your strings won't go dead. Man, I sound like a redneck...:woot:

    SOLD Bergantino HDN212 cab

@Burwabit , I really wish I could afford your cab right now. I have an HDN112 and just purchased the HDN210 to go with it LAST MONTH on Reverb just about a week before yours came up. I’d love to have yours to add to my arsenal as another option, but I just can’t afford it unless I can sell some...

I don't think @Jim Bergantino would agree with you. The reason the 2 ohm switch is there and it reduces 3 db and turns on the fan is so it won't overdrive/overheat the amplifier. If you aren't using a high volume, you may be OK. If you push it, you may cause a major problem because with the low...
