    Is a drum machine really necessary to learn bass?

    I've looked into ChordPulse and really like what I see. Thank you very much for the tip!!! For the price it seems beyond awesome. I'm going to give it try. With a 14 day free test drive, I don't think anyone can go wrong giving it an audition.

    I love playing along with my Alesis16. With all of the different patterns and with A/B of each you can find lots of pockets to pick. But a metronome allows me to focus only on the material I'm learning with a very steady master of time that's distraction free.
