Oh, and Pino also participated in the Standing In The Shadows project. That may have been a catalyst to help spark his continued interest in the P bass. AFAIC, Allan Slutsky gets more credit for elevating the visibility of the whole P-with-flats thing than Pino and Scott combined.

If anything, the current “P bass with flats” vogue sparked off in the 80s with the release of Standing In The Shadows Of Motown- where seemingly everyone and their dog learned who Jamerson was.
