I got my first bass, höfner ignition last winter. it sounded great and played well..now, after the winter when I tried to play, most strings make noise touching the first frets, even when I play a free note and also playing the strings on the first frets makes this ugly noise when they rattle...

Thanks :)) I got the confidence to try them and thickest string was the only one not perfectly fitting as it is .106 but with a little bit of force I was able to put in its place.. It doesn't seem to matter that the G and E strings were too long it plays fine now. And much more solid feel than...
