Höfner violin bass started to play badly in springtime

I got my first bass, höfner ignition last winter. it sounded great and played well..now, after the winter when I tried to play, most strings make noise touching the first frets, even when I play a free note and also playing the strings on the first frets makes this ugly noise when they rattle against the frets..I suspect that the air humidity is now higher and the bass has somehow deformed because of this. The situation has now been like this all time, already 4 weeks.. So how to fix this?!

Hi.

Most necks exhibit such behaviour when the humidity changes, some more, some less.
Fortunately, it's no big deal.

The adjustable truss rod was invented for that reason back in the day to replace the non-adjustable ones that were used before with sucess.

Since Your neck is too straight now, ie. not enough relief, just loosen the TR tenson by turning the nut counterclockwise, 1/8 or 1/4 turn at a time.
Let it sit a day or so and repeat if necessary.

When losening the TR, it can be done with the strings in full tension, but when You adjust it back in autumn/winter, it's safer to loosen the strings before tightening the nut.

I don't know whether the Ignition construction allows the top to ride up and down when humidity changes, but if the relief is correct, You may need to raise the bridge a hair as well.
