    I just installed an Aguilar OBP-3 preamp on my thumb BO 5. All I can say is woowwww!!! It became more versatile and the growl just got better. Plus, I now have the mid option.

    @means2End it has a push pull switch plus you can turn it up for mid boost actually.

    Installed the preamp and all i can say is WOW!! More body, more punch, versatile. It has a mid boost but Im still thinking about drilling a new hole for it. For now it's hiding inside which I need to pop open if i need to adjust. I just need some more "go and drill". What do u guys think??

    hi, i just installed an OBP-3 on my thumb bass BO5. i didnt want to drill a new hole for the mid boost so i hid it inside where the preamp is. will it be ok to drill a new hole? will it affect the sound of wood? suggestions pls. thank you

    Thanks! I think it should be perfect because I dont want the thumb sound to go away. Did you configure it for 18v or 9v?

    my OBP-3 will be arriving soon. It's for my Warwick Thumb BO5. I have no idea how it's going to sound like. I hope i dont have to replace the pick ups (no budget yet). I do hope they make a good pair!
