    How many people are using "signature series" gear?

    I'm lefthanded and I like short scale basses but I've always resisted buying a Hofner 500/1 because it is so identified with Paul McCartney it has become his signature model even if his name isn't on it. It's a good bass and he's a great player. I just don't want to "look" like him.

    My Next Bass might be a Birdsong

    My new Shortbass from Birdsong. The sound of it, build quality and playability are crazy good. I highly recommend any short scale enthusiasts to check out a Birdsong. No regrets.

    An album that really bumped up my interest in the bass early on was Now Look, which is pre-Stones Ron Wood. Willie Weeks is amazing on that record.

    BMW, 'cause they helped design the Musicman Bongo bass. Not a good looking bass in my opinion but it plays great.
