My Next Bass might be a Birdsong

Been interested in Birdsong basses for a while and was pleasantly surprised to find that the Birdsong guys are in Wimberley, Tx, where much of my family lives.
Next time I'm down that way I might just have to stop in and say hey and pick on one of their basses.
Everyone who's posted reviews of them seem to love them. I don't see them much on the used market, and then when they do pop up for sale they sell fast.

Question is: Which one is the one for me? 4 string for sure, but the pickup options are all so well thought out. I do like the concept of just a volume knob, which one of his basses features. There's a lot to be said for simplicity.

Owned a Cortobass. Beautifully made instruments.

If you can play one and hear one before your purchase, that would be ideal. Make sure the small scale and the particular tone are good fits for you.

They have a way of doing business that goes way above and beyond what you get with any mass production instrument. The fact that you can then check out how they play and sound before ordering one is a plus.
