The $399 Joe Dart Bass by SBMM

not trying to junk on this - I meant to imply that if I was going to choose between a HB and this, I'd get this, but generally speaking something about it doesn't really appeal to me.

The $399 Joe Dart Bass by SBMM

I was excited about getting this for "another sound" and after a few minutes I became lucid - it's a cheap bass for 400 bucks...well 450 with shipping and taxes. At that price it's not worth it. If I'm going to buy the same bass from Harley Benton I'd possibly get it. I think I'm going to look...

The switch doesn't make a pop. It tracks the bass quite well for me, even the B on 5 string. I tested again at home and I don't notice any noise issues now. I may have had a faulty patch cable at church.

Which Yamaha BB for the money?

734 is more bass than most would need. Fant imagine the high level one is really worth the premium

I have the monoprice tuner and generally like it, though I had a problem at practice that was either a bad cable or the tuner; there was noticeable noise coming through. I had never experienced that before practice so I can't say with certainty. I like the tuner otherwise though.

Big Amps will come back one day!!!

Sometimes, you just have to play through the fridge for the spirit of the 90s

Which Yamaha BB for the money?

I have an affinity for my BB734a. Its my favorite bass and really my favorite instrument. I put some flatwound cobalt strings on it ,replaced the Precision pickup with a fender vintage custom one of some kind and I'm ordering a split Jazz pickup from Lindy Fralin. Something about Yamaha basses...

When did cover gigs balloon to 3 hours?

I had never done any band or group music before; at my church we have a rotation so when you are up, they assign you a practice and sometimes a day or two before practice they send out the chord charts. we run through the set and take notes on the changes and then you are on your own with...

When did cover gigs balloon to 3 hours?

I just want to know how you guys memorize enough songs for that. At church they give us like 4-6 songs and between my day job and the kids I just kind of learn how the song goes and bring chord charts.

whoa, thank you for the detailed diagram. I guess it is a bit more involved than i might ever need, but it is good to know. I like the way this head sounds but cant quite describe it in a meaningful way.

I have too many basses, obviously I should therefore hang them all on the wall

man I had three basses and it felt like overkill. I just gave one away the other day. I don't have a 5 string anymore, just a BB 734a and a Squier 40th anniversary red /gold p-bass

What exactly is the crossover for? I have a weighty Peavey Mark VIII XP that has a high/low gain input, 9 band EQ w/ high and low shelving, compression, chorus, an effects loop, dedicated line/patch inputs (no idea what they are for) DI out, and cross over frequency/balance knobs. I wonder if...
