Darkglass Microtubes 900 + DG410C Shuts down on stage

Mine shut down at a very cold outdoor gig - in the 30's - and also shut down inside at our practice room at normal temperature.

Doug - I follow you on Instagram - your workouts are impressive! You're allowed a typo after all that weight you're picking up!

Darkglass Microtubes 900 + DG410C Shuts down on stage

I agree - Doug and the other people at Darkglass have all been super cool. I don't mean to bash them at all - I love their products - just think there may be a glitch in my amp or crappy electrical supply in my recent gigs!

Amp fried when soundchecking... what happened?

I'm not so sure the amp is actually fried because it still plays at full volume at home? By the way, I've had nice & helpful communications with the Darkglass people.

Darkglass Microtubes 900 + DG410C Shuts down on stage

Darkglass support said it has a protection mode at 90V - but I don't know what that is or what power we were being fed...all I know is it happened twice and that's one too many for me unfortunately, because when working, it's amazing.

Amp fried when soundchecking... what happened?

True, but I've played bass for over 38 years (that's scary to realize!) and have used Trace Elliot for most of those years and never had an amp do this. Has anyone else? It's making me question Darkglass and maybe look at Bergantino or Genzler... Agedhorse - I see you're with Genz Benz - bet you...

Darkglass Microtubes 900 + DG410C Shuts down on stage

(thanks to those who already replied to this question on an earlier thread) I recently got a new Darkglass Microtubes 900 + DG410C - and have "tried" to use it twice at recent outdoor gigs. Both times the amp sounded perfect during setup but as soon as we started the first song, the amp shut...

Amp fried when soundchecking... what happened?

Well it's a brand new Darkglass DG410C cabinet and I've set the ohms to match head and cab...?

Amp fried when soundchecking... what happened?

That's what Darkglass told me - it protects itself under 90V but how would I know what voltage is coming my way? And why is it just my equipment that is failing?

Amp fried when soundchecking... what happened?

Thanks for the tip (I'm new to this forum). Yes - playing pretty much the same at home. Maybe a little less aggression but not noticeably. And I've played over an hour at home with no problem.

Amp fried when soundchecking... what happened?

I recently got a new Darkglass Microtubes 900 + DG410C - and have "tried" to use it twice at recent outdoor gigs. Both times the amp sounded perfect during setup but as soon as we started the first song, the amp shut itself off - then came back - then off again. Ridiculous. Had to go to a back...
