    Presonus Firestudio Project HELP!

well, my setup used to be an M-Audio MobilePre (pretty much, their equivalent of an M Box) into my KRK Rokit 8s and there was no unnecessary noise at all! Naturally though, that is because there was no power going into it besides the USB. I bought an american Firestudio Project, as it came with...

    Presonus Firestudio Project HELP!

Aloha, I've had this Firestudio Project for a while now, and there's always been an incredibly annoying earth hum. I've been able to live with it whilst recording heavier music, but when attempting to work on my jazz bass duet...it becomes agitating and downright unbearable. I've tried...

    advice on cabs for recording.

cheers sonic assassin. I record in my apartment, so i usually DI bass (T Racks+ Ampeg SVX) and record guitar in my spare room (in a small enclosure made of mattresses...with either a Rode or a Carillon) but lesson well learnt! cheers

    reverb for bass?

if you're a mars volta fan, in Frances the Mute, i think on the track Cassandra Gemini, the bass player is doing this cool thing with verb and a fretless, gives the bass an eerie ghost-like tone. And of what you can hear on Metallica's Ride the Lightning, I would take a stab at reverb being a...

    advice on cabs for recording.

Are you sure you want to spend the money on hiring both the head and cab? Like, surely if it's a studio you guys have chosen that's 2 states away, I'm guessing you guys wouldn't have chosen a non-reputable studio. So chances of the studio probably having some very decent pres, let alone an...

    Tone Hammer vs BDDI

So I can see what you're both pretty much alluding to is that the Tone Hammer seems somewhat favourable. The problem with Melbourne, I cannot find any place that has the Tone Hammer! So it may end up being an eBay purchase...sigh Pretty much, my Orange does have a very amazing tone, but when...

Headless basses - why or why not?

my bass teacher plays a custom steinberger, apparently made by ned steinberger himself. They usually have graphite necks to balance the weight, which incidentally gives great sustain, and as there is no curvature in the strings, it makes them harmonically better, in terms of overtones etc.

Any delay pedals as lush and thick as the Eventide Timefactor?

if you want something cheap, the Behringer Vintage Time Machine is pretty much a direct copy of the EHX Deluxe Memory man, both have the same functions, sound the same, are true bypass and it sounds scarily too good

    Tone Hammer vs BDDI

Ahoy, I saw this post up in 2008, but its relibaility was admitted to be somewhat shoddy because it was posted at pretty much the same time that the Tone Hammer actually came out. So as Bongomania referred to it, the reviews would generally be in a 'honeymoon phase'. In a 2007 (or 08, i'm...
