That's a long spiel. Bottom line is the wood and construction of the instrument matters. The rest is noise.

Today I was playing my 77 Stingray acoustically and then grabbed my 73 Jazz and did the same. They sound very different unplugged. Tone woods do matter.

Yeah my vintage collection is way up in value. Many are choosing to invest and hold these scarce instruments rather than holding paper dollars that buy you less and less year over year.

Yeah, I never said this applies to all. Many have increased, many haven't. Point is that its interesting to observe which ones have and have not.
