Olinto Flats vs Deep talkin 760 FS

Hello, Looking for feedback from players experienced playing both the Olinto Flats and Deep Talk 760 FS ( 45 65 85 105 ). Preferably from players who have played significant time with both. I am starting this new thread because much of what I find online is either from players who just...

Things many bass players care about, that I don't believe

That's a long spiel. Bottom line is the wood and construction of the instrument matters. The rest is noise.

Things many bass players care about, that I don't believe

Today I was playing my 77 Stingray acoustically and then grabbed my 73 Jazz and did the same. They sound very different unplugged. Tone woods do matter.

    Club Moollon

Really ? It doesn't look as dark as the Charcoal frost i've seen in the past. Is the photo making it appear lighter than it really is ?

Yeah my vintage collection is way up in value. Many are choosing to invest and hold these scarce instruments rather than holding paper dollars that buy you less and less year over year.

Inflation and the price of used basses

Yeah you're right. The pricing on their website hasn't changed since 2017. That might support why used Roscoes haven't increased much if any. Looks like my Roscoe SKB list is around $4500 and I paid around $3500 i believe quite a few years ago.

I understand how our debt based financial system works, as well as debt and rate cycles. There are nuances and many moving parts, but one thing does not change. When you create and inflate supply of fiat currency out of thin air, you debase its value against hard assets and reduce future...

Inflation and the price of used basses

Used Roscoe and USA Lakland instruments market value have changed little to nil in over 10 years. Previous listings have been for the most part in the 2k to 2.5k range for ages. This despite the big increases in new list. This can't be said for other instruments in my collection like my 1965 and...

Inflation and the price of used basses

Yeah, I never said this applies to all. Many have increased, many haven't. Point is that its interesting to observe which ones have and have not.
