How many screws to change a valve (tube) in a Mesa Boogie Walkabout??

By the way... after the ridiculous amount of screwing (and I'm always prepared to admit that I didn't notice an easier way to open the Walkabout...) ... I replaced both tubes (valves) with two very old Mullard ECC83s from my collection of new-old-stock valves (yes, I know, it's tragic but I...

How many screws to change a valve (tube) in a Mesa Boogie Walkabout??

Mine blew a valve (tube) tonight and I'd guess that the total number of screws I had to remove in order to get in and replace it was about 30. Is this a record or am I an idiot? Either is entirely possible.

Apologies in advance - this is ANOTHER cab/ohmage question

This is so very silly. The word is in the Collins English Dictionary. Get over it boys! ohmage (ˈəʊmɪdʒ) n 1. (General Physics) electrical resistance in ohms Collins English Dictionary - Complete and Unabridged © HarperCollins Publishers 1991, 1994, 1998, 2000, 2003

Apologies in advance - this is ANOTHER cab/ohmage question

You guys are way too clever for me, but I think I have more than enough information now, thank you. And when I need another lexicological lesson I'll certainly know where to come ... ;-) ohmage (ˈəʊmɪdʒ) n 1. (General Physics) electrical resistance in ohms Collins English Dictionary -...

Apologies in advance - this is ANOTHER cab/ohmage question

Thanks RickenBoogie (and everyone who has contributed). That sounds like sage advice. My problem being (and I should have explained this before) that I have a perfectly decent 8 ohm Ashdown 1x15 which I'd like to use as an extension to the Walkabout. I don't want to buy another extension...

Apologies in advance - this is ANOTHER cab/ohmage question

Thank you so much guys. I can't believe the number of helpful, thoughtful replies I've received in about an hour. HolmeBass, you're right: it is time I learnt this stuff and I'll make an effort. Meanwhile, my take from this is that I can run safely an 8 ohm cabinet from my Scout assuming the...

Apologies in advance - this is ANOTHER cab/ohmage question

Hey guys. Really sorry about this question. I've been playing bass for 45 years but still don't understand anything about Watts, Ohms and the rest. I have just bought a rather wonderful 1x12 Mesa Boogie Walkabout Scout combo. I wanted something lighter than my Ashdown 300/2x10/1x15 rig...

Scary problem with my Wal Custom 5. Any help please?

So, thanks to Caca De Kick's advice I spent a little time cleaning around the jack input, with a burst of switch cleaner. The result? She's working perfectly again! I would never have though of such and elegantly simple approach. That's why i LOVE forums like this one. Thanks all and...

    Wal Bass Club.

Hi there. I'm a new member (today) so please don't flame me if I'm posting this is the wrong forum or haven't searched properly (I've tried!). I own a number of lovely basses, but my main gigging bass is a gorgeous Wal Custom 5 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Wal5stringkauri.jpg)...

Scary problem with my Wal Custom 5. Any help please?

I would if I could. Can't even find the link that says: "new thread" in the Wal Club. And yes, I'm registered and logged in. Either I'm even more stupid than I thought or the forum is really not very intuitive! ;-)
