The Official Short Scale Bass Club -- Part 4

even tho it's a short scale, the nut is 1.625"

Just checked website and your univox and my jetson have same length 30.5 and nut 1.625. So guessing the necks probably feel very similar though fingerboard is different (maple vs blackwood).

Would love to see a univox or map (out of my price range though) locally. I'm neck picky and so havent done online bass ordering yet. Still shocked the jetsons showed locally and I was able to snag it before anyone else nabbed it.

yeah I’m betting similar feel as well. If the Uni neck had rolled edges I might like it a bit more. Was practicing with it again today and I could get on with it but probably will have it as a backup at gigs or maybe even use it for Eb tunes we do but most the time, I use my Digitech Drop pedal for those tunes.

And yeah great score on the Jetson Jr. I don’t see Used Eastwood’s locally ever.

I diddled around with the Mini-Jazz this morning.

The control cavity looks clean, and the electronics show no obvious flaws.

Thumb rest added, block inlays applied, and restrung with Hofner Short Scale rounds. The slight angle makes the blocks look wonky, but from straight on, they're ok. At least, no one in the audience is gonna notice anything.

NBD! The Music and Arts by my house put this on discount and I could no longer say no! GSRM 5 stringer for $129 basically new? Yes please!

It was new on a mistake delivery and not even in the store 2 months. Apart from needing a lil tlc, it is in near mint condition. I'd been playing it every week while my kid had their music lesson so I feel like I already know this bass a bit.

So I now officially would like to join the club after stalking y'all for months! :D

Welcome to the club! And bring your super-cute cat too!

Ok, so there's not a Rat Bass club yet on Talkbass and i need some suggestions for knobs. I don't have any dice to drill out and by my self imposed rules can not spend any money on this bass. Also what's a good termite spray?

Got any old desks or dressers you're not using? Can you find one at the local recycling center (dump)? You could drill out drawer knobs to fit -

If you're serious about termite spray, here's stuff to look at.
