im looking at buying this head. I play through a GK 410BLX right now.. any opinions? should i go with it or should i hold on a bit and look for a better head... if so what would be a better head to go with.. i play metal btw

ok so im kinda new at this stuff.. what exactly is a pre amp and can you put a pre amp inside a different amp and get the pre amps sound rather than the amp you have? more specifically if i got a 500 watt pre amp and put it in my 80 watt peavey head would i get more headroom and better tone out...
