Another dumb question from me :confused: Okay, I love the Ampeg tone but the affordable heads have been ripped to shreds in these pages for being underpowered. Can I add a SWR amp lite down the road and get 400 watts more with a B2RE? Or maybe just an Ampeg preamp & power amp is the way to go.

I'm referring to the new stuff. The Rebel Head, Staccato and their associated cabinets. They are very nice I'm sure but paleeeze....hopefully their prices will come down in six months. Maybe I'm just a cheap bastard but I can get a lh500 slightly used for $220.

I just came back from trying two MarkBass heads through a MarkBass 212 and a 412 with a Geddy Lee bass. I tried many, many settings and no punch. I came home and my Fender Jazz with a Badass bridge through my Carvin PB150 combo (crackly pots & all) had punch. I like that hit you in the chest...

I checked out 4 working cover bands in my area and ALL the bassists use 410 cabinets. Anyone out there in a working band that uses a different setup? I'd love a pro option that I can easily move in & out of my toyota's trunk but that still gets the job done. My thoughts were 2 210s or 2...
