Sorry about the noob McNoobington question. What is the advantage of useing the effects send and return, rather than just running the effects streight into the regluar guitar input?

Why does eppi make a new color for the jack,and its the crappy silverburst. Why not red or white with black back, or god forbid a burst that looks good, cherryburst.

I have this 1983 American Fender P-bass with an EMG in it.I don't think its the stock pup(all the pictures of same type basses had white ones). The pup looks to be around the same age as the bass. Which Type of EMG would this be? Does EMG still make this pup?
