i just got a new 5 string today and the action is really low. It won't even tune. When I press on the frets on the B string, there's no downward movement until the 10th fret. I've never adjusted a bass before so I'm not sure what exactly needs to be adjusted.

I have the Fender 7250ML super bass long scale bass strings. I had them for two years now. I just bought some rotosound 66 swing bass strings but i don't know if i should use them yet. The strings I have now seem to be a bit dirty. Should I just clean them or replace them?
