My bass has old rib cracks that have been cleated but the old glue has flaked away over the years that was in the cracks so you can see through the cracks. There is no buzzing or rattles so should I leave it be or reglue the ribs with hide glue? Thanks in advance.

All the strings have purple silks at both ends. I would say dominants but this does not have the typical ball end you find on Thomastiks. Ball end has 0 and 4 on it. Thanks for any help in identifiying this sting.
